Remember the Alamo!!

Chaz and I went on the best trip to San Antonio this last weekend. We left Abby with my mom and it was the first time in awhile that we've been alone. The weather was perfect and we walked the river walk all day Saturday. Friday night we went to this very fancy restantant and I had the best steak that I've ever had. We of course went to see the Alamo which we didn't realize was right behind our hotel. It was the best vacation that we've had in a long time. I can't wait to do it again. I really do miss Abby way more than I thought I would. I can't wait to see her on Wed. when I go to my mom's. I'm staying till Saturday for my little sister's graduation. Then I'm finally home for awhile. Three weekends in a row out of town is so exhautating. I can't wait to get things back to normal.

Mother's Day trip

So I had the best mother's day trip with 3 amazing women. My two sisters-in-law and my mother-in-law all went to Salado, Tx for the weekend. We stayed this wonderful bed and breakfast and shopped the whole weekend. They have the cutest shops there. Saturday night we took a carriage ride to 6 art galleries. I"m ashamed to admit that I've never really been into art but it was fun learning all about the different styles. My mother-in-law is a very talented artist and really got into it all. The weather was great and we just had the best time. I really missed Abby. She has been so much fun lately so I couldn't wait to get home to her and Chaz. I can't wait to do it again next year!! Happy Mother's Day!!

21 weeks and counting

I know it's been a long time since I've blogged but we've been without Internet for 3 weeks. It felt like a lifetime! Anyway, things have been crazy around here. Abby went through a long period of being sick, our neighborhood was hit by a tornado and we've been moving furniture around to make room for the Charlie. My house is a wreck but on the upside I'm feeling good. I'm starting my 21st week and now feeling a little stressed to get everything done. I really want to enjoy this summer with Abby and not have to worry about decorating. I've really been having fun decorating Abby's new room. I haven't done much yet but know what I want it to look like. I also know that I'm doing Charlie's room in western cowboy. I do have to say that decorating Abby's room is a little more fun. I guess because it's a girly room. Anyway, we fixed the fence last week. We are very lucky it was only our fence. There was a lot of roof damage done to other houses. God was really watching over us. I think Abby is finally over being sick. I hesitate to say that because I just had to give her Motrin so she would go to sleep. We did our 20 week sonogram this week and everything looked great. It's still a boy, Chaz was nervous that something may had fallen off, but it didn't. He is right on track. He is moving around like crazy which I didn't experience with Abby. He is already so different than Abby. Lately I've been counting my blessing about how much God has blessed me with a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Too many of our friends haven't been so lucky. It's especially been hard since I work with terminally sick children and things at work have been bad. We had a nurse abuse two foster children that I have has patients. It's been an terrible situation. On the other side, my other patient is finally out of the hospital and doing good. We did find out that his brain is falling out of the back of his head but after they do surgery, it should cure many of his other health issues. Sorry I was all over the place. I promise to do better at updating now that I can.

IT'S A BOY!!!!!

16 weeks

We are pleased to announce that Abby is going to have a baby brother. We found out today and there was no doubt that it's a boy. Chaz is just beside himself and I don't think he has stopped smiling yet. We are going to name him Charles Kilmer Railsback and propably call him Charlie. I'm so excited that I can start buying blue things, infact I already stopped to pick up a few. Of course Abby is happy because we are. She has no idea what's instore for her. My brother was only 15 months younger than me and we had so much fun together. We drove our parents crazy but he was my best friend growing up and I pray these two will be also. I'm just so overwhelmed by God's grace and blessings. I'm so undeserving but so grateful. Life sure will be different around here but I can't wait!!

Abby's million dollar smile or should I say $1000 smile

Well many of you know that Abby chipped her tooth last week. As you can see in the picture, it's pretty bad. We are going to have to fix it and it's going to cost us a small fortune. It just brakes my heart. I know she is still my beautiful little girl but I really miss her smile. Chaz keeps calling her chip and I yell at him everything. I just don't think it's funny yet. I'm sure someday I will. Anyway, she is doing good. We are finally all feeling better and I go to the doctor Friday for my 16 week appt. I'm still having some morning sickness which is really night sickness but learning to manage it. I'm having to work extra days at work to pay for Abby tooth. Ah, the things we do for our kids. Hope everyone is doing good and staying well. I'll let everyone know how the appt. goes on Friday.

My little sister got hitched!

Well we made it through the crazy wedding. Everything turned out great for Cayce. I hope it was the wedding she wanted. Anyway, there were a few stressful moment which is to be expected when you plan a wedding as fast as we did but it was nice. Cayce looked beautiful and when I get some pics I'll post some. Abby did so great during the whole thing. She didn't get a chance to take a nap for two days and you wouldn've known the diffterence. She did cry when she saw me walk down the aile and realize I couldn't hold her, I was the maid of honor. But she did great! It was also wonderful seeing so much of the family that I haven't seen a long time. I was glad Abby got to meet some people see has never seen before. It was a long weekend and I'm so glad it's over. My other sister, Courtni, is not allowed to get married for a least 5 years. Well, back to me. I'm 14 weeks and still having some morning sickness. Every week I think it's gone then I have a really sicky day but it is getting better. I've been feeling the little one move around some now and it brings a smile everytime. I'm trying to enjoy it now while it's not uncomfortable yet. I know there will come a day when I will be begging the little one to be still so I can get some sleep. But right now I'm really enjoying it. We go to our next appt. on the 30th and we're hoping to do a sono to see if we can tell what the baby is. The last one we could slightly tell but want to make sure before we start telling everyone. I don't have a sono appt. the lady said that she would try to get me in. So if we don't say anything then we didn't do a sono and we'll do one in April at 20 weeks. Untill then a pray that everyone is doing well and I'll post some pics soon. I haven't been good at taking much lately.

Feeling Very Pregnant!

Well I'm starting my 11th week now and so far things are rolling right along. I've been pretty sick but I know it all for a good cause. I've been working 10 hours shifts 2 days a week which hasn't help with the morning sickness but I know that staying home it's going to make it go away. So off to work I go. We've had 2 sonograms and everything looks great. The due date is Sept. 12th. We will have another sono next week and I'm hoping it will look more like a baby instead of an alien. I'm ready to find out what we're having. I just can't wait to decorate the room. We've decided to move Abby into the guest room with the full size bed. If the baby is another girl then we'll leave Abby's old room the same but if it's a boy then Chaz said the strips have to go, which makes me sad. My mom and I worked so hard to paint those strips but oh well. I'm excited about doing Abby another room. It's all I can do not to decorate it now but I'm going to wait awhile. She is still to young to move into a big girl bed. We'll probably wait till she's 18 months. That will give us 2 months for her to get used to it before the baby comes. I'm sure I'll be hitting some of you moms about the best way to do that. Well, I'll try to scan the sono pic. next week and everyone can see the new Railsback addition.

Abby's Going to Be a Big Sister!!

Well we are happy to announce that we are expecting baby number two! We are 6 weeks along and the due date is September 12th. The kids will be 20 months apart which I feel is great. We have been talking about trying this summer but God had other plans and aparently all it takes is us talking about it. I'm feeling great but know the rough stuff is coming soon. I hope to work untill it comes but we'll see. I'm already getting tired after chasing Abby all day. But I feel so blessed! I always wanted my children to be close in age. My brother and I were so close growing up and it was great! I hope this two get along and I know Abby will make a great big sis! Anyway I couldn't wait to tell everyone!! I've known for 2 weeks and it's been so hard not to tell you all.

Abby's first hair cut!

Abby had her first hair cut which was way over due. Her hair has been so long and in her face. Poor baby! But we finally did something about it and she loved it. She laughed the whole time. I think that this means she will be a high maintance little girl who likes to get pampered. Dad better start saving money now for those trips to the salon!

Merry Christmas!!

Well Christmas came and went in a flash! I can't believe it is already 2007. So much to be thankful for! We had a wonderful, relaxing day at home on christmas day. I think I stayed in my pjs the whole day. You can't beat that! Santa brought Abby a bouncy horse which at first she wasn't sure about but now loves. Chaz and I did stockings which had way too much chocolate in them. Santa wants us to be fat this next year! Anyway, we had a great day and can't wait to do it all again next year. Merry Christams!!

Abby's First Birthday

Well I can't believe my baby girl is turned one on Wednesday the 13th. It's been the best year of my life and as I sit here and relive the first time I held her I can't help but cry. She has been the best thing I've ever done in my life. I never knew I could love someone so very much. She brings so much happiness and joy everyday to Chaz and me. I can remember every moment of giving birth to her as if it was yesterday and yet it feels like it was a century ago. She's not my little baby anymore but I can't wait to watch her discover new things. I love watching her play and figure out how things work. She just amazes me!! God has blessed me more than I deserve. I could never thank Him enough for allowing me to be her mom. I knew that I would love her but I never knew how blessed. Thank you little girl for being my little angel and allowing me to be your mom. I pray that I will always be here for you and guide you to have a heart for Jesus. I also pray that you will be as blessed as I am and that one day you feel the love of being a parent and how extremely rewarding it truely is. Happy Birthday my little princess and I can't wait to celebrate the next one!!

Things are much better at the Railsback house.

Well I'm so happy to say that our sweet little Abby is finally back to her old happy self. After almost 3 months of illness we are all relieved to have her back and just in time for her 1st birthday. I can't believe she is almost 1. I told Chaz yesterday that this time last Dec. I couldn't see my feet and now I'm always looking down at Abby cawling all over the place. She has been so happy the last couple of days that we've already forgotten how hard it's been lately. We do go the GI specialist on Friday to talk about what to do next but I feel like the worst is behind us. And we thank God for that. She has been so social lately too and learning something new everyday. I think she was a little behind on some things when she was sick but she sure is catching up fast. It's amazing how well kids can bounce back. I'm also back at work and loving it. I am a bit sad and happy that the little girl that I've had for about 4 months now is no longer needing nursing care. So after the new year I won't have her anymore. I will miss her so much. She is such a good baby and her spirit after all she has been through is truely wonderful. I've really been blessed to have had this time with sweet Farrah. I will miss you and I pray that God continues to heal you and keep you safe. Anyway I will post pics from Abby's party next week. I can't wait. I'm so excited!!

Trick or Treat!

Well Halloween Abby felt well enough to get dressed up and go to church for some trick or treating. I decided since we missed the Ridgell Halloween party this year that I would wear my costum too. It was fun and we loved seeing all the kids dressed up. Chaz dressed up for work as Wayne from Wayne's world. It was pretty funny but Abby cried everytime she would look at him. Here are some pics. Enjoy!!

Busy Times

Well as many of you know Abby has been very sick going on 2.5 weeks now. For those who don't know what's going on, here is a quick summery. Abby twice now has vomited for at least 6-7 days and this last time she became very constipated. This made her even more sick and the pain that she had was terrible. We've been to the ER two Sat. nights in a row and both for different reasons. This last one was because she had 104.7 degree temp. They ran a few tests and nothing could tell us much. She is doing better today. We have the Upper GI tomorrow and I hope that will help us figure out what's going on. We are all so very worn out. She is a tropper and still gives us a smile when we need to see it. I'm staying home with her for the next couple of weeks which is making it so very hard to shop for Christmas and her birthday when we don't have my pay check. But I'm so very blessed to be able to stay home with her and work has been so understanding. Please continue to pray that Abby will get better and that God gives Chaz and me the strength to be there for her.

Happy Birthday Bella!

We had a great time at Bella's party. All the girls were so cute in their tutus. Thanks for a fun party!

Fun times at Gran's

Abby and I went to my mom's this last weekend and has always had a great time. I was a little sick and it was nice having my mom there to take care of me. I also got to meet my sister Cayce's new boyfriend. She is my youngest sister and now that's she 18 years old it makes me feel way old. Her boyfriend is nice but no one is good enough for either of my beautiful sisters. My brother Cally who is 12 years old makes me laugh. He has never held a baby and watching him try to hold Abby is something very comical. Being the oldest of five children makes it very weird that he has never been around a baby but he is very sweet and Abby loves him. It was wonderful being around all of them again. I've prayed so long for my mom, sisters and brothers to live closer. They have been out of state for too long. We're glad to have them back in Texas. Now we just have to get my dad out. We should know whether he is to be released or spend another 2.5 years in November. He's chances of getting out are 50/50. I really do miss him and so sad that he has missed out on Abby's first year but I know God is in control and He will do what is best. Well, I'm off to the big city of Abilene this weekend to visit my grandmother. We haven't been back in months so I'm ready to go home for a couple of days. Chaz is staying here and holding the fort down with the dogs. We'll catch everyone next weekend. And before I forget GO COWBOYS on Sunday. We have to get this one.

Fun weekend!

This next pic isn't from this weekend I just wanted to show how Abby is now making this cheesy smile. I don't know why she is doing it but it's funny.

Chaz and his high school friends from Fort Worth Christian with all their kids. What a fun bunch!

We had a good weekend at Chaz's 10 year high school reunion. He is so old! Just kidding honey, you know you will always be 21 to me. Abby did good even though she is teething and didn't get much sleep. She is such a good kid. I can't help but praise God for making me her mother. Anyway I thought I would show some pics of the weekend.

My little girl is growing up!

Well today Abby crawled for the first time. I was so excited but so sad at the same time. I know her world is fixing to change a great deal but so is mine. I still remember holding her the night she was born and thinking how small is was. Now she is so heavy and is crawling! It makes me want to cry. I was able to capture the event on film so Chaz could see it. He was so excited! My favorite part of the day is being on the floor with Abby and Chaz playing. Now it looks like it will be more like chasing her around. Man they really do grow up fast!

Pics of Abby and outfits that I've made

I thought I would try to publish some pics. We will see if it works.
